Spring Carnival Fundraiser plans have changed
As a result of the focused efforts on SPARK fundraising this Spring and the success of the Auction last November, the PTA has decided not to hold the carnival in May. The board would like to hold a family fun event, like a movie or game night, and are asking for volunteers to step up to plan and organize a more low key event for our community in May. Please email Maria Schick @ [email protected] if you are interested in volunteering.
REMINDER – Reflections Awards Reception on April 15!
Please join us for an awards celebration for the participants of the Reflections art contest on April 15 from 5:30-7:00 pm in the school library. The artwork will be displayed for viewing with refreshments at 5:30 pm and the awards will be distributed along with returning the art starting at 6:00 pm. All participants will receive a ribbon and certificate (district level include a medal). Additional family and friends are welcome.
Teacher and Staff Appreciation Luncheon
The hospitality committee is looking for help with our monthly faculty/staff appreciation lunch on April 16. This month's theme is homestyle favorites. We need entrees like casseroles and meatloaf, sides, salads, breads and desserts. This lunch is hosted by the pre-K and Kindergarten families, but anyone who enjoys cooking is welcome to join in the fun. You can volunteer at the following link: http://tinyurl.com/April2015lunch.
Earth Day in the Garden!
Come celebrate Earth Day in the Garden- Saturday, April 18 from 9 am until noon. Join us for a morning in the gardens! We will show you around our vegetable garden, butterfly garden and weather station. So many plants and butterflies and bugs to discover. You are also welcome to lend a hand and help us clean up the gardens. Since we are an official Urban Harvest Community Garden, Urban Harvest is planning on supplying some additional community volunteers as part of their Earth Day celebration. Stop by anytime and stay as long as you like. Everyone is always welcome in NHE's gardens. Questions? Contact Ruth Parks at [email protected].
Schoola Fundraiser for SPARK Park!
Clean out your closets and help earn money for the SPARK Park! Schoola will sell our gently used women and children's clothing, shoes and handbags. NHE will earn 40% of the proceeds! Look for the flyer and label in your child's folder and on the PTA website. Drop-off is between April 27 and May 1.
Running for the Arts – May 2
Are you a runner? Are you looking for a fun 5K that helps benefit the arts and health fitness programs at our schools? SPARK Park Update
The Nottingham Knights are well on their way to meeting the fundraising goal for the Nottingham SPARK Park! Our current total is over $150,000!!! BUT, there is still more fundraising to be done before our deadline of May 31, 2015.
Parents, don't forget to ask your employers if they will match your donation! Company matching is not only available in large corporations but in smaller companies, too. If you are not sure if your employer matches, be sure to ask!
Do you know of an individual or business that you think would support the Park but you are uncomfortable asking for a donation? Let the SPARK team do the asking! If you would like a member of the SPARK team to approach an individual or business as a potential donor, contact Leslie Schoenfield at [email protected].
Do you know of a foundation or other charitable organization that would support the Park? Contact Jennifer Vanderschoor at [email protected].
Underwriting opportunities within the Park are going fast! If there is a portion of the Park that you would like to permanently bear your family or business name, do not delay! Turn in your Commitment Form to reserve your spot! Contact Gina Keith at [email protected] for Underwriting. So far, the following items are SOLD:
Octagonal Benches
Teacher Benches
Baseball Backstop
Soccer Goals
1 Back of School Landscaping (2 opportunities still available)
1/2 Gaga Pit (1 opportunity still available)
1 Trash Can (3 opportunities still available)
