Friday’s PTA meeting will include election of PTA officers for next school year, reviewing the budget committee’s proposed budget for next school year and discussing SPARK Park updates on fundraising and project timeline.

It is my pleasure to submit the following slate of officers for Nottingham Elementary PTA for the 2015-2016 school year to our membership on behalf of the nominating committee (Kate Potter, Michelle Pendleton, Heather Ruisard, Meg Maguire and Katherine Gray). I'd like to thank the nominating committee for putting together such a great group as well as to the candidates for their willingness to serve in the leadership of the NHE PTA. Officers will be formally elected during the PTA meeting on Friday, April 10th.
SPARK Park Update!
The Nottingham Knights are well on their way to meeting the fundraising goal for the Nottingham SPARK Park! Our current total fund raised is $150,000!!! BUT, there is still more fundraising to be done before our deadline on May 31, 2015. Parents, don't forget to ask your employers if they will match your donation! Company matching is not only available in large corporations but in smaller companies, too. If you are not sure if your employer matches, be sure to ask! You will never know until you do.

Save the Date – Reflections Awards Reception on April 15
Please join us for an awards celebration for the participants of the Reflections art contest on April 15 from 5:30-7:00 pm in the school library. The artwork will be displayed for viewing with refreshments at 5:30 pm and the awards will be distributed along with returning the art starting at 6:00 pm. All participants will receive a ribbon and certificate (district level include a medal). Additional family and friends are welcome.
Teacher and Staff Appreciation Luncheon
The hospitality committee is looking for help with our monthly faculty/staff appreciation lunch on April 16. This month's theme is homestyle favorites. We need entrees like casseroles and meatloaf, sides, salads, breads and desserts. This lunch is hosted by the pre-K and Kindergarten families, but anyone who enjoys cooking is welcome to join in the fun. You can volunteer at the following link: http://tinyurl.com/April2015lunch.
Running for the Arts – May 2
Are you a runner? Are you looking for a fun 5K that helps benefit the arts and health fitness programs at our schools? Then sign up for Running for the Arts, which will be held May 2 at Memorial City Mall. This run is sponsored by the Spring Branch Education Foundation (SBEF), and all proceeds go directly to arts and health fitness programs in SBISD schools. Last year, more than $59,000 went back into our schools. SBEF is encouraging people to register online at www.runningforthearts.com. There are categories for competitive 5K, Non-Competitive 5K run/walk, and Kids K.

Nottingham Spirit shirts are available in limited numbers. If you would like to buy one for you or your child, they are only $7.00! There are very few left in the smaller sizes (no youth medium) so consider purchasing one size larger. If you are interested, please email Joy Payne at [email protected] to ensure the size is available. Please send payment this week. Payments should be in an envelope addressed to Joy Payne. Numbers are limited so buy yours now!

Nottingham Parents, we are in need of your help! In May, we will honor our teachers with our annual Teacher Appreciation Week. One aspect of the week includes a gift card giveaway. Ideally, we would love to have one gift card for each teacher and staff member. Please help us by donating gift cards in any amount, $5-$25. Gift cards can be sent in an envelope addressed to Nottingham PTA, attention Lisa Wood. Thanks you for your support and generosity.
T-shirts Needed for Outdoor Loom
Ms. Ripley is making yarn for the outdoor loom using old t-shirts. She needs donations of t-shirts (any color, any size, but larger shirts make longer lengths of yarn). A box is outside the art room to collect t-shirts.
